Bob Pimentel, Owner/instructor

Owner/Instructor

Bob taught chemistry and physics at Brophy College Preparatory. After his teaching experience at Brophy, Bob accepted an offer to join the pharmaceutical industry where he first worked with The Upjohn Company in Phoenix and later worked with Merck & Co., Inc. During his tenure at Merck & Co., Inc., Bob had a career that included working in sales and marketing. He was promoted to the position of Business Manager for the Hospital Sales Group in the Southwest Region. He won several awards for sales and marketing and earned his way into the Merck & Co., Inc. sales Hall of Fame. From 1985 to the present, Bob has been actively tutoring students in a broad spectrum of courses.

Sheila Pimentel, owner

Owner

Sheila taught preschool through kindergarten upon graduating from college. Additionally, Sheila worked as a sales representative for Hearing Consultants in Phoenix. She was and continues to be an active volunteer at St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Francis Xavier, Xavier College Preparatory, and Brophy College Preparatory while all three of her children attended these schools. While she raised her family, she maintained an active role in the formation of Pimentel Academic Services.

Megan, Manager/Instructor

Megan studied abroad in Granada, Spain, at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas. She was awarded the Wildcat Excellence Award and graduated with Cum Laude Honors and on the Dean’s List. Megan completed four years as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, where she participated on the Chapter Council as an executive board member. During her college tenure, she was awarded Second Place in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese Film Festival, became a member of the Students in Free Enterprise, tutored at the Roskruge Elementary School, a Bilingual Magnet, and participated as a member of the Sigma Delta Pi Collegiate National Hispanic Honor Society. Megan has been playing the piano for 20 years.

Matthew, Instructor

Matthew graduated from Brophy College Preparatory as a member of the class of 2006. He received two degrees (Spanish and Philosophy) from Saint Joseph’s University in 2010. While an undergraduate student at “St. Joe’s,” Matthew also earned a certificate in Latin American Studies and minored in Faith-Justice Studies. From 2010 to 2013, Matthew lived and worked abroad in Perú as a high school teacher and international volunteer with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. After returning home from Perú, Matthew began working for Pimentel Academic Services, LLC. He holds a master’s degree in Global Technology and Development (2016), as well as a PhD in Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology (2021), from Arizona State University.

FRED, INSTRUCTOR

Fred was a physics teacher, football coach, and assistant principal at Brophy College Preparatory from 1967 to 1990.  Following his career at Brophy, he continued to be a principal, physics teacher, and varsity football coach at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City from 1990 to 2012.  Fred enjoys teaching physics and math.

Rahnee, Instructor

Rahnee graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 2006. He attended Santa Barbara City College to pursue football, and went on to Northwestern College (now University of Northwestern - St. Paul) where he received his Bachelor's in Mathematics in 2011. Rahnee enjoys sports and traveling.

Jack, Instructor

Jack is a Phoenix native and graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 2006. He continued on to Arizona State University where he earned a degree in Business Communications and minors in Political Science and Religious Studies. Thereafter, he completed his Juris Doctorate at Phoenix School of Law. Currently, he practices domestic relations law at Curry, Pearson & Wooten, P.L.C. in Downtown Phoenix.

Edgar, Instructor

Edgar was born and raised in Phoenix and is a graduate of Phoenix Country Day School. He was awarded the New American University Scholar President’s Award to attend ASU, where he completed two Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Mathematics in 2017. During his studies, Edgar worked as a tutor for both the Physics and Math departments. He further acquired a love for teaching by attending workshops on teaching methods by both the Arizona Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AzAAPT), and the Arizona Science Teachers Association (ASTA). Edgar loves to code, to tackle difficult problems, and to work with students to understand and master subject matter. Currently, he is planning on returning to ASU for a Masters in Physics Education.

Jake, Instructor

Jake graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 2014, with a total of 11 AP course credits. Over the next four years, he pursued Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Modern Culture & Media at Brown University, where he also served as the head programmer and director of the world's largest student-run film festival. Jake has been a certified yoga instructor for 8 years, has a particular fondness for the literary and media arts, and plans to attend graduate school for film production.

Joseph graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 2020. While attending Brophy he completed several AP courses, including: AP English Literature, AP United States History, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, AP Comparative Government and Politics. He is currently pursuing a political science degree at Barrett the Honors College at ASU. In his free time, he enjoys baking pies, reading, and taking long naps with his cats.

MAX, Instructor

Max graduated from Mountain Ridge High School in 2018 and went on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder on the Presidential Scholarship. Max currently does research at CU Boulder and will complete a Bachelor’s degree in Biophysics in 2022. He plan to continue to a PhD in Biophysics studying possible methods of bioremediation. Max enjoys sport climbing, snowboarding, and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Erin, Instructor

Erin is from Scottsdale, Arizona, and she attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School. She then received her undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis with a major in animal science. There, she developed an interest for animal behavior research, where she assisted PhD candidates and created a research project of her own. She is currently in her first year of veterinary school at Oregon State University. She enjoys running and biking!

Savannah, administrative assistant

Savannah is from Laveen, Arizona she graduated from Xavier College Preparatory as a member of the class of 2016. After graduation she went to pursue her education at Arizona State University for a degree in Accounting. After a successful career out of state with Dutch Bros she decided to return home to continue a pursuit of a higher education.

ADI, instructor


Adi is a proud native of Phoenix and graduated from Chaparral High School in 2013. He attended the University of Arizona, where he earned a BS in Biochemistry in 2018 and a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2019. During his time at the UofA, he worked as a beekeeper and research assistant for the USDA’s research division. There, he studied the effects of malnutrition and pesticides on honeybee hormonal development. Additionally, Adi participated in student government and was a member and Director of the university’s improv comedy troupe, The Charles Darwin Experience. During his free time, Adi enjoys exploring the outdoors and rock climbing, watching old political thrillers, and learning musical programming languages.

MARCUS, instructor

Marcus was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Brophy College Preparatory and matriculated to Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). He played Division II Lacrosse where he became the captain of his team and received the honor of Academic All Conference Player. While attending WashU, Marcus earned an internship with the SL Capital group which led to his gainful employment after graduation. In addition, he has tutored for Pimentel Academic Services for several years in several subject areas.
